Attorney Sherrie C. Smith has been working at Helms Robison Lee, & Bennett, PA since 2014. She devotes the majority of her practice to family law, helping clients through some of the most difficult times of their lives. She also does civil litigation, traffic tickets, and real estate. In her experience, she has helped clients in domestic violence court, family court, child support court, and civil court. As a family law attorney, Sherrie assists clients with divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution (property division), post-separation support, alimony, separation agreements, domestic violence, terminating parental rights, adoptions, grandparent custody, as well as other family law related issues.
Sherrie received her law degree from Charlotte School of Law, magna cum laude, in May 2014, and became a licensed North Carolina attorney in August 2014. While in law school, Sherrie was a member of the Order of the Crown academic honor society, Phi Delta Phi academic law fraternity, and Charlotte Law Review as an Articles Editor and Symposium Editor. Prior to law school, she received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, summa cum laude.
She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, and Union County Bar Association. Sherrie also serves on the board for the Union County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and she is a member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce Women in Business program.
Sherrie was born and raised in Union County, North Carolina, and graduated from Sun Valley High School. She currently resides in Indian Trail, North Carolina with her husband and young daughter. They enjoy spending time with family, going to church at Weddington United Methodist Church, spending time outdoors, and taking trips to Wilmington, Boone, and High Rock Lake.
